Nikon Scsi & Raid Devices Driver Win 7

Has anyone here had experience using the ls-2000 with windows XP? I have the scanner and the adaptec SCSI, all installed and the hardware says it's operating correctly, but the nikon scan software (vers. 3.1, which is for SCSI units) doesn't seem to recognize the scanner. Elsewhere on this site, we have an extensive review of Nikon's flagship Super CoolScan LS-2000 film scanner. Here, we review the little brother of that unit, the CoolScan III, or LS-30 model. I have a Macbook 13' polycarbonate unibody on OSX 6.2. I also have an old Nikon LS-30 Coolscan III negative scanner that I would like to use. As this is a SCSI scanner with a parallel port on one end of the output cable, I purchased an adaptor cable to connect this to the USB on the macbook.
