Racepak Port Devices Driver



Unknown devices show up in the Windows Device Manager when Windows can’t identify a piece of hardware and provide a driver for it. An unknown device isn’t just unknown — it’s not functioning until you install the right driver. Windows can identify most devices and download drivers for them automatically. USB Adapter, Serial to USB Port. This adapter allows you to connect virtually any Racepak serial programming cable to a modern PC or laptop. It features a 9-pin serial connector on one end, and USB on the other. Works with the following Racepak data loggers and dashes:. Sportsman. IQ3 Display. IQ3 Logger Dash. V300. V300SD. Using Windows Update to fix the device drivers. Right-click the Windows icon on your taskbar. Select Settings from the list. Click Updates & Security. Go to the left-pane menu and select Windows Update. Go to the right pane, then click Check for Updates. Install all the available updates. Updating your device drivers. If your device does not appear in this list, reseat the cable connected to your computer or try a different port. If your audio device shows up as an Unknown device or has a yellow caution symbol, you will need to uninstall the device and then reinstall the latest driver (see Driver Reinstall below).

Driver updates for Windows 10, along with many devices, such as network adapters, monitors, printers, and video cards, are automatically downloaded and installed through Windows Update. You probably already have the most recent drivers, but if you'd like to manually update or reinstall a driver, here's how:

Update the device driver

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.

  2. Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update.

  3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

  4. Select Update Driver.

  5. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

Reinstall the device driver

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.

  2. Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the device, and select Uninstall.

  3. Restart your PC.

  4. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
