MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 1999--Adaptec, Inc. announced today that its AVA-2903B SCSI card has been selected by Ricoh as the host I/O card for its MediaMaster MP7060, Ricoh's 6X/4X/24X CD-R/CD-RW drive. Adaptec's AVA-2903B SCSI card will be bundled with the MP7060 and sold in the Ricoh kit, designated MP7060S.
The MP7060 is Ricoh's fastest CD-R/CD-RW drive combination, and has a 6X CD-Recording speed capability, 4X CD-R rewriting speed, and a 24X CD-reader. The Adaptec AVA-2903B, a plug and play SCSI PCI card, provides the I/O interface that optimizes these high CD-R and CD-RW data transfer rates.
'We are pleased that Adaptec's SCSI card is part of our latest CD-R/CD-RW solution, as this card ensures the boost in performance that our customers need,' said Shinichi Okawa, senior vice president at Ricoh Disc, Media and Systems Center.
Free drivers for Ricoh IS330DC. Found 16 files for Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 95, Windows NT, WinNT 3.51. Select driver to download. A single SCSI interface can connect with a maximum of seven peripheral SCSI devices. When using multiple SCSI devices, a different SCSI ID must be set for each of them. If two peripheral devices use the same SCSI ID number, it will cause the host computer to operate abnormally or fail to start up. VueScan与的Ricoh MP C3003兼容上Windows x86, Windows x64, Windows RT, Windows 10 ARM, Mac OS X 和 Linux。.
'Professionals in demanding environments require speed and reliability, and our AVA-2903B meets this requirement,' said Jean-Eric Garnier, director of personal computing solutions for Adaptec.
Peripheral devices using the SCSI interface provide up to six times the speed of parallel port devices and USB peripherals. In addition to speed, SCSI technology includes a dedicated DMA processor which minimizes the possibility of buffer underruns when making CDs. This means that users are more likely to burn CDs successfully with SCSI CD-Rs then with USB or ATAPI CD-Rs.
According to a recent report written by CAPA, a system design and quality assurance testing company, SCSI is the I/O interface of choice because SCSI has more richness in types of peripherals it supports, as well as sheer numbers of peripherals, than any other I/O technology. SCSI peripherals include scanners, CD-ROMs and CD-recorders, hard drives, tape backups, and Zip and Jaz drives. Also, SCSI provides a connection for both internal and external devices.
Ricoh is the most recent in over a dozen design wins for Adaptec in the peripherals market within the last six months. Other SCSI design wins include Canon, Epson, TEAC and Plextor, where an Adaptec SCSI card is being bundled with best of breed CD-R and CD-RW drives, scanners and removable drives.

NAME
sane-hs2p - SANE backend for Ricoh SCSI flatbed/ADF scanners
DESCRIPTION
Thesane-hs2plibrary implements a SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) backend that providesaccess to the Ricoh IS450 family of scanners. Should also work with the IS420,IS410, and IS430 scanners, but these are untested. Please contact the maintainer or the sane-devel mailing list if you own such a scanner. This backend is alpha-quality. It may have bugs and some scanners haven't beentested at all. Be careful and pull the plug if the scanner causes unusualnoise.
DEVICE NAMES
This backend expects device names of the form:FILES
- SANE_CONFIG_DIR
- This environment variable specifies the list of directories that maycontain the configuration file. Under UNIX, the directories areseparated by a colon (`:'), under OS/2, they are separated by asemi-colon (`;'). If this variable is not set, the configuration fileis searched in two default directories: first, the current workingdirectory ('.') and then in @CONFIGDIR@. If the value of theenvironment variable ends with the directory separator character, thenthe default directories are searched after the explicitly specifieddirectories. For example, settingSANE_CONFIG_DIRto '/tmp/config:' would result in directories 'tmp/config', '.', and'@CONFIGDIR@' being searched (in this order).
- SANE_DEBUG_HS2P
- If the library was compiled with debug support enabled, thisenvironment variable controls the debug level for this backend.A value of 255 prints all debug output. Smaller values reduce verbosity.
CURRENT STATUS
The hs2p backend is now in version 1.00. All major scanning-related featuresare supported, except for those features requiring the optional IPU. Scanningfrom the flatbed or ADF (either simplex or duplex) is supported. Lineart, halftone, 4-bit gray, and 8-bit gray are supported. Pre-set gamma tables andhalftone patterns are supported, as well as brightness, threshold, contrast. Also supported is scan wait mode, binary and gray filtering, negative scanning, and absolute or relative white setting. Printing with the optional endorseralso is supported.PLANNED FUNCTIONALITY
This scanner can scan from the ADF in continuous simplex mode.Surprisingly, many scanners scan an entire document from the ADFinto memory before ejecting the sheet. Thus if the document is toolong, the scanner cannot hold the entire image data in memory. But if the scanner would send its image data when its memory got full, and then read the next buffer's worth of data, continuous scanningcould be achieved.MISSING FUNCTIONALITY
The SCSI commands for uploading (2AH) or downloading (28H)custom halftone patterns (02H) and gamma vectors (03H) should work, but require implementing the SANE Option-Value code to allow theuser to create the tables to be uploaded to the scanner. No supportfor Maintenance Data (80H) is planned as this functionality is moresuited to a stand-alone utility to be used by a technician whenreplacing the lamp or ADF unit. Nor is support for reading or changingIPU (93H) parameters and adjustments planned, since my IS450 lackssuch a unit. The 31-byte Auto Photo/Letter struct and 21-byte Dynamicthreshold struct are documented in the hs2p-scsi.h file should someonewish to use their IPU for image data processing.AUTHOR
